WBRP Taste of the West fundraiser set for Nov. 9
Members of the West Bloomington Revitalization Project know how to put the fun in
fundraising – and how to serve up some great food in the process. The eighth annual
WBRP Taste of the West event will be held at Grossinger Motors Arena in Downtown
Bloomington on Friday, November 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission to the event is on a
“pay what you can” basis.
This annual festival of food and fun features chefs and caterers from the area around
West Bloomington, as well as a 50-50 raffle and silent auction items, all in support of the
programs offered through WBRP, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
Attendees will sample and vote on culinary creations presented by chefs from Common
Ground Grocery, Grand Café, A-Z Catering and Parties, Nightshop, Hog Nutz BBQ,
This is it Furniture (featuring Chef Dave Namoff), and
The evening will also include a performance by members of the BCAI School of Arts,
plus music with MC Joe Palma from Palma Entertainment. Rep. Dan Brady will serve as
the auctioneer for a variety of items donated by businesses and individuals.
With more chefs participating this year, the event has moved to the main floor of the
arena. Guests should use the arena entrance next to the Pepsi Ice Center.
WBRP programs encompass: Home Repair, the Tool Library, Community Gardens, the
Seed Library, Veggie Oasis, Economic Development, Street Beautification, Bike Co-op,
and the Book Bike.
